Slow fashion is the contemporary term for this. The pieces of my fashion label are recognizable by a minimalist style, good quality of eco material, refined finish and a good fit.

Slow fashion

For my fashion label Rianne de Witte, I choose to make timeless designs with respect for humans, animals and planet. The garments are produced from sustainable materials such as certified organic cotton in my own workshop and small-scale workshops in the Netherlands and Portugal. The logo with a shirt and turtle depicts this conscious approach: the choice for slow fashion.

Exhibition Slow Fashion

In 2019 I was asked by the Dordrechts Museum to make a design for the 'Slow Fashion' exhibition. Reuse and sustainability were the starting point for this exhibition. My designs are based on captive time and space, designed by means of embroidery and smocking which relate to sustainability.

The result is a long, straight-fitting dress with 6 meters of fabric. Wereldwijven Ateliers, who regularly perform the
embroidery in my designs, has taken care of the embroidery. The Slow Fashion exhibition can be seen at two locations, the Dordrechts museumand Huis van Gijn. The exhibition lasts until April 12, 2020.
